
My list of contender condos in DC is getting shorter and shorter. This high-rise condo is one of the finalists.
It is an affordable one-bedroom within walking distance of work. It is about the same size as my current apartment and in a generally good neighborhood nearby the DC convention center.

Here's what the flier says: "Spacious 7th floor 1 BR near convention center/downtown. Floor to ceiling windows and balcony with eastern exposure and gas stove! Gas included in condo fee. Great location: 3 blks to metro (green/yellow), & walk to red line (Chinatown), Dupont & Logan circles, & Natl Mall. Pet-friendly with front desk, common roof deck with gas grills & storage incl. Garage parking avail for purchase."
The downsides (and there always are!): the view overlooks an eyesore of an empty lot which will likely be developed sometime over the next few years; there is no tub - only a narrow stand-in shower; and, I would have to pay extra ($35,000) for a parking spot in the underground garage.
